Member for Buderim Steve Dickson is issuing a challenge to his fellow MP’s and members of the community to come on board with a fund raising initiative to support our diggers.

“A soldier of 6 RAR came up with this idea at the beginning of the year. Anybody can purchase one of these wrist bands for five dollars. The wrist bands have``Support the 6 RAR Battle Group in Afghanistan'' inscribed on them.”

The purpose of the wrist bands is to raise funds for the wounded and fallen from the 6 RAR battle group, whilst deployed in Afghanistan. All money raised will be distributed to the families of these members,” Mr Dickson said.

He added, “I first heard about this initiative on 4BC this week, so I rang Michael Smith and ordered one hundred of them. I’d like my fellow MP’s to take part in this and buy a few, and I would encourage all members of the public to contact Private Leticia Phelps at 6 RAR on email leticia.phelps@defence.gov.au, and spend five dollars for this most worthy of causes.”
