ACROSS THE ‘7’ C’S
Farewell you ‘youngin’s from top O’ the Mountain
Our aim has been to please
Your family with your preparation
To sail the seven ‘C’s’.
For this isn’t just a poem that rhymes
Within there lies a message
To embrace with all your heart and soul
As you sail this Right of Passage.
If you’re selfish then you’ll miss it
Also if you’re hard of hearing
But this C will hold you in good stead
The first C it is Caring.
The second’s how you conduct yourself
For some this may embarrass ya’
But without a good one you will surely sink
On this ‘C’ that is your Character.
Number three is so empowering
With your actions and your voice
To all this gift’s been given
It’s your own free will and Choice.
Without the fourth it’ll be hard to finish
The train may have left the station
The satisfaction of a job well done
Unrealised without Concentration.
Five can cause to question us
And move from sitting on the fence
You won’t get off the sideline
Without the ‘C’ of Confidence.
Six is in the everyday
Without it people see
I’m a person that they cannot trust
The ‘C’ of Consistency.
Last but not least is number seven
Standing firm against a barrage
It’s the ‘C’ that’s brave in difficulty
The ‘C’ that we call Courage.
So put these in your nap sack
May they help you on your journey
From a child to an adult who can stand tall
In a life that’s filled with learning………
