Most people know Lynn Moss for her wonderful work as President of the Buderim War Memorial Community Association, but in another life she was a high flying Promotional Manager in the fashion and textile industries
Born in the United Kingdom, Lynn came out to Australia in 1955 to work for the promotions department in David Jones. She was quickly snapped up by WB Lawrence Advertising and then the Osti Group to fill the job of Promotions Manager, organising fashion shows and launches for big name clients.
In 1961 she was given the task of taking Australian fashions to the United States, in 1962 to the UK and in 1963 to Moscow. By the '70s she was offered the position of Australasian Promotions Manager for multi-national company American Celanese. For the textile industry she created and launched the long running All Together Australian campaign before opening her own business in 1986.
Lynn has worked as a consultant for Woman’s Day, the Australian Wool Corporation, Fashion Industries of Australia, Pat Woodley, Zegna and Hugo Boss.
By 1993 Lynn, who had just been presented with a special FIA Award for services to the Fashion Industry, decided to close up shop and move to Buderim for retirement.
Forever the workaholic, her retirement didn’t last long. Before she knew it, Lynn was volunteering at the BWMCA. Over the past 15 years she has filled the role of Promotions Officer, Events Officer, Newsletter Editor, chaired 17 committees, served four terms as Vice-President and two as President.
At the recent AGM, I paid tribute to Lynn's dedication to the BWMCA, as she handed over the reins to a new executive.
Lynn was an integral part of installing the dedicated dog park in Buderim as well as organising Q150 celebrations on the Sunshine Coast.
She is currently the Patron of 4 Paws Animal Rescue and plans to devote her time and talent to helping them and other Sunshine Coast animal organisations.
